SK Group Plans to Build AI Factory in Japan, Aiming for Operation Within 2-3 Years
South Korean SK Group Chairman Choi Tae-yong announced that the group plans to build a semiconductor factory in Japan and establish its first overseas AI factory in collaboration with NVIDIA. The factory will integrate SK's memory technology with NVIDIA GPUs to create a gigawatt-level data center for processing massive amounts of data. The team is currently examining land and power conditions, aiming to put it into operation within 2-3 years. Additionally, SK Group is actively seeking more cooperation opportunities.
